How does meal planning reduce food waste?

Before shopping for groceries, consider making a meal plan for the week ahead. This allows you to think about what perishable ingredients you need to buy, and how you can use them up in different recipes throughout the week.

For example, if you'll only use half a carton of mushrooms in one recipe, consider what meal you can make later on in the week to use the rest of them up.

This may seem like a small change, but over time it can make a large difference in the amount of food waste you produce. It's also a lot more budget friendly and can save you a lot of money in the long run!
